Mile Oak Boxing Academy
About Us
We are a proud community based boxing club, catering to all abilities from 10 yrs+.
We have a total of 3 coaches with many years of experience and expertise between them. Four of our coaches are level 2 and the rest are level 1.
We all have DBS certificates, trained fully in first aid and have safeguarding in place.
We have 2 members of staff to handle the admin, both of them being safeguarding officers by profession.
We have a personal connection to Chris Eubank’s trainer, Ronnie Davies, who is also involved in the training for Chris Eubanks JR. Ronnie pops in to our sessions and happily gives tips, advice and motivational talks to all our members.
Community based boxing club for all abilities and genders
Bill Davies is our head coach. He is a level 2 amateur coach and a professional coach. He has also trained and produced an ABA Heavy Weight Champion.
Philip Philipou met Bill and Ronnie Davies at Cheaters Gym, Hove in the 90's. He helped Ronnie with his pro boxers and has an England level 1 certificate. His philosophy in coaching is to keep it simple and to make things realistic when working on the pads.
Tracy Davies is our secretary, our safe guarding officer and is also married to Bill!
A little family history
Boxing has always been a passion for the founders of this boxing club. With this passion and determination to keep the sport going, it started from Bill Senior, our head coach's dad. He is the one on the top left in the picture.
Bill's older brother Ronnie, who was Chris Eubanks trainer, is pictured on the top right.
Bill himself is pictured in the bottom right and finally Bill's son Glynn is pictured bottom left.
